  28. It could be any number of things, most likely a flow control problem.  We
  29. have discussed this numerous times.  Make sure that the most effective
  30. means of flow control is enabled at every point along the communication path.

  32. Evidently you are using end-to-end Xon/Xoff (software) flow control, which
  33. is often the best you can do when VMS is on the other end.  But if you are
  34. entering VMS through a terminal server, you might do better with hardware
  35. flow control (RTS/CTS) if your modem supports, and if the remote modem does
  36. too, and so does the terminal server, AND it is enabled in all those places
  37. and in Mac Kermit too.  Read ckmker.bwr for instructions.

  39. Also, be sure to tell VMS to SET TERM /TTSYNC /HOSTSYNC.  Also, have the
  40. VMS system manager read the CKVINS.DOC file, which includes instructions
  41. regarding VMS SYSGEN parameters, buffer allocation, privileges and quotas,
  42. etc.

  47. You should be able to Open the initialization file from Kermit and then
  48. Save it, which will make it into a Kermit document.  After that, clicking
  49. on it should start Kermit and have it execute the commands.
